About the area
Located less than an hour from Washington, D.C., lies the heart of Loudoun Country. Comprising six towns and numerous unincorporated communities, the county is home to nearly 421,000 residents, making it the third most-populous county in Virginia.

Travel and transit
With many areas remaining more rural, travel between county areas is manageable on the day to day. While rush hour can become complex, the county is well-connected via Rte. 28, the Dulles Greenway, and Rte. 7. Notably, the Washington Metro is in the final stages of completing the Silver Line extension, which will finalize the connection of Reston all the way past Dulles International Airport, offering global travel access just minutes from home.

The Reston Town Center is filled with everything from boutiques to large-name clothing brands, global cuisine, and specialty stores. Outdoor fans will love to explore Morven Park, a 1,000-acre historical estate and horse park. There are also animal sanctuaries and the Ball’s Bluff Battlefield Regional Park that make great walking spots.
More than 300 vineyards call Virginia home, and several are located within Loudoun County with beautiful views, diverse wine styles and varietals, and many offering music and other events. Most are family friendly, making them perfect spots to take in a leisurely afternoon picnic.
